The Vespa tropica, also known as the Greater Banded Hornet, can be found in Indonesia. It boasts a body size of approximately 35mm and a wingspan of 45mm. Its body features a classic black and gold coloration, while its wings showcase a beautiful honey hue.
Vespa tropica is a skilled predator, known for raiding the nests of other wasp species and collecting larvae to feed to its own young. This creature has been observed preying on honeybees and even capturing dragonflies. Additionally, it is a formidable foe to paper wasps due to its powerful stinger, which can inflict intense pain and swelling.
